Week 4 Questions

1. Consider your personal learning strategy. What changes have you made in your life to incorporate your studies at Tafe?
I have had to make changes in my life for Tafe such as train less on the bike and watch less TV and use my free time to study things that need to be completed, over the past month or two Ive made massive changes in life as I moved to Newcastle from the central coast yet I commute every day to and from. The area which I live in has made it hard to get around yet Ive incorporated that travelling time to study time, once on the train I can write read over and study things in the quiet carriage using my time effectually.

2. What challenges have arisen when trying to meet your learning strategy?
Again the challenges Ive faced meeting my learning style are I'm living in a shared house now with distractions around me but Ive come up with the system to complete tasks and study on the long train trip to tafe every day.

Week 3 Questions

1. In which areas of your learning today did you feel you went well?
Areas in which I went well today are in creative writing, I'm writing a story and I'm getting into the story because I'm writing on a topic which I have a passion for witches.

2. When analysing texts did you ask for help feedback?
When I analysed text I always ask for feedback, and I need to work on my structure of my essay writing and short response writing as I'm still in HSC mode and I need to write in a different way for TPC

Week 2 Questions

1. Which learning styles do you naturally use?
I naturally use a relaxed learning style yet I tend to freak out come exam time, during the HSC I would use every moment to study and learn all I can about the prescribed texts and my own texts to. I do lots of planning about my studying habits yet I still struggle with time due to my sport and travelling to from tafe. What I need to do is use the travelling time to study or at least read over work more.

2. What learning styles do you lest use?
I least use a structured learning style, I tend to have my own ideas and incorporate them into what work that needs doing, as I have what they reckon is a learning difficulty I tend to need to be interested in what I'm learning otherwise its not going to happen.

3. Which learning styles did you use in class this week?
The learning style I used in class this week was trying to listen more to the teacher and talk less yet I and take notes. Also I need to finish off takes one at a time instead of starting all of them and not finishing.

Week 1 Questions

1. What were the reasons behind you coming to tafe?
The reasons behind myself coming to tafe and doing Tertiary Preparation Certificate are I would like to develop my skills in the in all areas and also gaining a official ATAR score allowing me entry into university. I had learning difficulties at school which made it very difficult to have done this before, there for I completed my HSC but was surprised how well I started picking up on areas I once struggled with. Now Ive completed the HSC I want to now move on to TPC and hopefully get into university and start a teaching degree as I know what its like having trouble with reading and writing and feeling low self worth because of these problems I'm hoping to help children instead of what happened to myself where teachers called me dumb and wrote me off as a too hard case leading to years of depression through school.

2. what is your ultimate dream job?
I could say I have a list of dream jobs some are more achievable in real life then others, the first dream job is soigneur which is a helper in cycling usually they help riders with packing items for racing in teams cars such as, water bottles, food and anything a professional rider may need for racing that day. The soigneur also helps with washing clothes and basically any other things the rider wants, usually the soigneur is married to a rider so a dream job would be to be Mark Cavendish soigneur and be married to him cause he is pretty dreamy.

My achievable dream job is to become a primary school teacher, this dream is fully achievable with a lot of hard work, the reasons to be a teacher are simple and the holidays are a perk of the job to. Becoming a teacher would be an amazing job as I would like the chance to help kids who have problems, unlike many of my own teachers who were some what horrible to me and didn't want to help, I now have a understanding how these kids feel. Being a teacher also provides a good wage and unlike many positions today not easily replaced by a computer, computers aid teachers not put them out of jobs

My dream job that will never happen but I would still love to dream about it is professional athlete such as a swimmer, cyclist or triathlete unfortunately only a few make it as far as to get paid for what they love and what they are good at. Being an athlete means giving up everything that is either fun or bad for you such as going out to night clubs, eating what ever you want and free time and relationships are hard to keep too. Being an athlete means training/racing in and cold such as cyclist may need to race in the wet such as cyclists in the le Tour de France go through days of cold and wet. This is a dream job to get paid for sport but I don't think ill ever be good enough to make a career of it.

3. In what aspects of your learning do you wish to improve over the coming weeks?
In the coming weeks I hope to develop my understanding of types of texts and the content of the text body. I would like to be able to read and understand how the writer puts together their work.
I also would like to develop my own writing skills in creative writing, essay writing and short answers.
